History
Inspiration for PALIO began in 14th century Siena, Italy. Il Palio is an annual week-long celebration culminating with a bareback horse race around the Piazza del Campo. Preparations begin months prior, and festivities commence the week of the race. Ceremonies, dinners, and other spirited events fill the cobblestone streets of each contrada, or neighborhood. Prova, or practice runs, give jockeys and spectators a sense of the competition. On the final day, a parade ushers the crowd into the piazza and the race is off! The victor claims “il Palio” – the victor’s banner – and considerable bragging rights.
Adherence to year-long training, resourcefulness, social promotion & intense competition is not coincidental. The PALIO Method leverages the same rigors of preparation & execution to achieve sustained outcomes in any professional setting.

Meet Joe
Joe has always favored the Choose Your Own Adventure brand of life (see: Chart). His entrepreneurial spirit ignited as childhood magician, although hopes of attending the USNA in Annapolis were dashed by a medical denial for asthma. Picking himself up and dusting off, Joe attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and this exposure to engineering prepared him for the seismic shift he would navigate during his career on the NYSE. Excelling in “the crowd” and a natural with algorithms, Joe was invited to provide regular live commentary on CNBC BloombergTV & other financial media.
Off Wall Street, Joe accumulated investments in: self storage facilities, student housing, US/EU soccer clubs, social media & coffeeshops. These “wagers” validate Joe’s unique experience walking the walk and are the basis for launching his own brand of executive coaching & professional development : P A L I O , inc.
The adventure continues today with ever-replenishing ambition, as Joe wakes up the sun to prepare for all that lies ahead.
His daily intentions:
- Be the best man, husband & father.

- Integrate knowledge in meaningful ways.
- Express gratitude for a blessed life.
Home base for Joe, Maria & their five young girls is Larchmont, NY. Passions include: outdoor adventures, photography, live music, travel & cooking. Downtime typically consists of: family bike rides to town for brunch in summer and crafts with hot cocoa in winter.
